1st Annual Putts Fore Mutts Golf Tournament

Lazy Paws Pet Food Delivery and It’s a Dog’s Life Pet Sitting join to host the 1st Annual Putts Fore Mutts Golf Tournament Saturday, June 6, at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course.

Putts Fore Mutts was created in support of Rancho Cucamonga-based Mutts N Stuff Small Dog Rescue. “Mutts N Stuff is a great organization doing great things for animals. Unfortunately, as a non-profit operating solely on donations, there’s never been enough funds for a shelter, and they instead depend on foster homes,” said Lazy Paws owner and Putts Fore Mutts creator Jeremy Mathison. “The purpose of this fundraiser is to get Mutts N Stuff a place to call their own.”

Putts Fore Mutts is a two-person Texas Scramble with tons of prizes, including $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $50 for third place, plus tee prizes. The Tournament will also feature live music by Rough Cut, dinner, and a raffle. Sponsors such as pet service locator Scooble.com and Canidae All Natural Pet Foods will be handing out bags full of special treats for participants’ pets.

Participant donations are available as $85 per golfer, $170 per team, or $20 for dinner only. Registration begins at 11 a.m., with tee time at 1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to pre-register at www.Lpaws.com or arrive early as space is limited.

The fundraising goal is $10,000 with all proceeds benefiting Mutts N Stuff.

San Dimas Canyon Golf Course is located at 2100 Terrebonne Ave., San Dimas.

Scooble Joins Southern California’s Largest Pet Fundraisers

Scooble.com will join two of Southern California’s biggest pet fundraisers this weekend: Pet Project Foundation’s 16th Annual Wag-A-Thon Walk-A-Thon Saturday, April 25, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Best Friends Animal Society’s Spring Adoption Festival 2009 Sunday, April 26, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“This is Scooble’s first year at both events,” said Scooble.com’s Rob Chell. “And as two of Southern California’s biggest animal fundraisers, we couldn’t be more excited to take part.”

Benefitting the San Clemente-Dana Point Animal Shelter, the Wag-A-Thon Walk-A-Thon will feature pet contests, celebrity guests, entertainment, and the Bowser Bazaar. According to the Foundation’s Brenda Whitney, approximately 2,500 people and 1,000 dogs attended 2008’s event, “making it the Top Dog Event of Orange County.” The Wag-A-Thon will be held on Dana Point Harbor Island.

The participation fee is $30 per person, and includes an event t-shirt and goody-bag, and refreshments for you and your pet. Admission for additional family members (maximum of five) is $3, and includes refreshments. Children under age three receive free admission.

The Best Friends Animal Society’s Spring Adoption Festival also promises fun for the entire family. Festivities will include 60 adoption groups and hundreds of animals, food, entertainment, raffles, a silent auction, and a dog agility demonstration. Plus, for the first time, the Festival will feature Dancing with the Dogs, a choreographed dance competition of pups and their owners. The Festival will be held at Westchester Park, 7000 W. Manchester Blvd., Westchester.

Scooble.com, the online resource for finding the best pet food and services, will be on hand at both events with goodie bags full of special treats for attendees.
